goodness it's been a long time

Hello friends and family....


My blog has been delayed due to internet access but... it's finally come so I can bring you up to speed. London was great! When in your lifetime do you have the chance to sit in a round table discussion with nurses and a doctor from the UK, the directors of the national health service for London to talk about health care? Uh...pretty much once in a lifetime... it was great... they were so eager to hear our perspective. I was able to spend a half day at one of their clinics. Each section of the city... like north hills... has their own doctor or nurse practitioner very similar to urgent care. It was so interesting and if any of you want to know more you are more than welcome to read my paper that is in the works regarding my trip. We are in Barcelona now and keep saying how this is an excellent ending to our trip. Tonight we went salsa dancing. Jessica... my travel bud .. is an expert... literally she used to compete it was just awesome seeing her dance ... Salsa is such a fun activity if you haven't tried it you must...I am off to bed to gear up for our last day in spain... buenos noche.- Just ME

London!!!

Hi all,

I unfortunately have very limited internet access... well actually I have access but it's expensive so... it limits me :) We have arrived in London and are happy to hear a familiar language again. Today we heard a variety of speakers talking about the health care system in the UK and other health care systems around the world. I was surprised at how little I didn't know. We went on the eye this afternoon and took a stroll down james park to buckingham palace. All in all a long but fantastic day. Tomorrow we are headed out of town to a long term mental health facility :) Totally my cup of tea! Hopefully internet access ( or cheaper access) will find me while I am here if not .... until then...- Just Me

Our last day

Its sunday 8:30 am (2:30am your time) it is our last day today. We head out on the train (that goes under water I might add) today at 3:00pm for london. It is a particularly fine day because last night we met some very nice americans from michigan who told us that today just happens to be the first sunday of the month....I know you are wondering what the significance might be just as I was so.... wait for it.... wait for it.... all the museums are free on the first sunday of the month!!! Yay... for free!!!! So we plan on taking advantage of this little gift and use the money we would have saved for.... that's right... a little shopping!!! We are sad to leave ole' paris especially since we have mastered the metro/train system but today will pose a new challenge as we battle the "tube" system in london.... bring it on :)- Just Me

Our first day...1/2day

We arrived in paris around noon (6am states time) and after a much needed shower and change of clothes (we had been traveling for 12 hours... are teeth needed a brushin') we decided we would spend the rest of the afternoon at the eiffel tower. Great!!! we have decided on our first "tourist destination" now we just have to get there. You would think this would be an easy feet for two graduate students.....(oh did I mention I am traveling with a classmate/friend named Jessica too!) it wasn't until our second "oopsy" mistake that we realized we were reading the bus schedule not the train schedule..... awesome. Once we followed the right map things went pretty smoothly we had dinner/lunch because, we had missed lunch earlier in the day, at a nice little cafe. Jessica B. had salmon I had a tuna quiche both were delicious. We came back to the room to gear up on some R and R for tomorrow.

Hello Paris!

We are here in paris :) After a long over night flight and an 1 1/2 hour delay to figure out the train schedule we have finally arrived at our hotel. I would write more but my stomach over ruled the blog and its telling me to eat something - Just Me

The count down begins.......

I have never blogged before so please be forgiving :)..... It's 7:26 am... still have not packed, still have school work to complete and a teleconference from 8:30-12:00 but I did waste an hour this morning trying to figure out how to "customize" my blog.... as you can see that didn't work out.

Another thing.... I am amazed to see how many people create blog templates??? I mean how do they make money if they are free.... maybe they don't ... anyways... still intrigued!
